The European Sociological Association needed a website for their 8th annual conference. The website would need to accommodate a huge amount of information for delegates and participants and integrate with Glasgow Caledonian University's payment system for online bookings.
As the site would be getting continually updated for over a year before the conference an easy to use content management system was essential. QnECMS the accessible CMS was used as the basis for building and updating the site.
- A booking form was developed as a plugin to integrate with the payment system.
- An abstracts submission plugin was developed so that speakers and participants could submit research paper abstracts.
- A simple navigation scheme was developed to ensure that the site was not difficult to use despite the large volume of content available.
Web Accessibility
The website also need to be accessible - in line with UK legislation - and be built in line with web standards to ensure it worked on different browsers and platforms.
